First time in a long time

Postby gwenfox » Thu Jul 29, 2010 9:53 am

Last night was the first time in over 15 years I've left the house dressed as myself, and not as 'him'. It was just a drive on the freeway to Miami to my therapists (about 40 miles) and back, and I didn't even drive, but it still felt pretty good. I've been dressing privately around the house for about a month, but hadn't made the leap to 'public' until just then. Next step - actually going out :D. Just wanted to share. Yay me!

Wow I still remember my first public adventure. I drove to a shopping mall, walked through the mall for about 15 minutes then back to my car. I was shaking so bad I could hardly walk, sweating, I must have looked guilty as hell, and I KNOW everyone was staring at me.

A milestone you will remember the rest of your life.

The first step is about 120 feet high, the rest are 12 inches or less. You go girl!!

Thanks everyone! It's really good to hear I'm not the only one who was shaking like a leaf on their first trip out!

Try not to go out alone. Well especially at first. It helps so much to have someone else trans to hang out with when you are learning to get comfortable.
Johannes de Silentio - to be able to fall down in such a way that the same second it looks as if one were standing and walking, to transform the leap of life into a walk, absolutely to express the sublime in the pedestrian
